Meet Pakistan’s superstars Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan live at Global Village Dubai
The celebrated duo to promote their upcoming film Neelofar in UAE
DUBAI – Dubai’s Global Village is about to welcome two of Pakistan’s most beloved stars – Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan – as they appear together on Thursday, November 20 at 8.30pm.
The duo will join fans on the Main Stage alongside City 1016 FM for a special evening celebrating their upcoming film Neelofar, releasing in cinemas on November 28.
This marks a reunion that has been eagerly awaited by audiences across the region, as the Humsafar and The Legend of Maula Jatt pair come together again to bring their signature on-screen magic to Dubai’s multicultural landmark.
Inside Neelofar
Neelofar, written and directed by Ammar Rasool and co-produced by Fawad Khan, is a romantic drama centred around Neelofar (played by Mahira Khan), a visually impaired woman whose courage and kindness transform the life of writer Mansoor Ali Khan (played by Fawad). The story delves into the nature of love and empathy, asking whether true affection can survive beyond physical perception.
For Mahira, portraying a blind woman was a journey of introspection and emotional depth. She prepared by observing visually impaired individuals in Karachi and drawing inspiration from acclaimed performances by Al Pacino and Naseeruddin Shah. “Blindness isn’t just a condition — it’s a state of being,” she said.
Fawad, who has long been known for redefining romance on screen, described Neelofar as a film that thrives on simplicity. “It’s not philosophical or indulgent – it’s an old-school love story built on connection and commitment,” he shared.
Fawad Khan returns to Dubai
Fawad Khan’s appearance at Global Village follows his earlier visit to Dubai in April, when he shared the stage with Indian actress Vaani Kapoor for the music launch of their Bollywood film Abir Gulaal. The cross-border event, held at the same venue, marked his much-anticipated return to Indian cinema after nearly a decade, drawing thousands of fans.
Now, as Fawad and Mahira reunite for Neelofar, Dubai once again sets the stage for a celebration of South Asian talent and timeless cinematic chemistry.
